OPEN DOORS

When you educate a woman, you empower the world.

Texas Woman’s University was founded on a commitment to the education of women, opening wide the doors of opportunity and empowering all people to live productively.

Generous philanthropic support ensures broad access to education, encourages students to continue through to degree completion and lowers the debt ceiling. Gifts for scholarships, undergraduate and graduate teaching and research assistantships, experiential learning opportunities, paid internships, study abroad opportunities and emergency funding are proven ways to invest in our barrier-breaking students and the future of the Texas workforce.

Here’s how you can open doors:

  • Invest in Student Scholarships: Invest in Student Scholarships: Open doors by funding scholarships to help attract the best students from across the state and the nation. US News & World Report ranks TWU’s student body as tied for #1 in Texas and #5 in the nation for racial and ethnic diversity.
  • Support Student Success Initiatives: Your support would help fund mentoring, advising, career services, and bridge programs for TWU students. A rich array of supportive programming — such as TWU’s Center for Belonging and First-Generation Students and our Frontiers Program for students formerly in foster care — is a big part of what makes TWU such an incredible institution for students from all walks of life.
  • Break Down Barriers: Open doors and break down barriers by funding scholarships so students do not have to choose between making ends meet and completing their college education. With your gift, students can benefit from programs like TWU’s Zero Tuition Guarantee, which bridges the gap between school fees and financial aid. 43.5 % of May 2023 baccalaureate graduates earned a TWU degree debt-free.
